PEPPER SOUP (LIGHT SOUP)

Ingredients

1 pound smoked pork 

2 Smoked Fish

2 Chopped Pounds Goat Meat 

4 Blue Crab 

4 Tomatoes 

1 Whole Onion (I prefer yellow)

1/2 Onion chopped

3 Habaneros

1/2 can tomato sauce

Prep

​

(1) Boil smoked pork on the stove on medium-high heat for 30 minutes, drain, and set aside

(2) Debone Fish, peel into pieces and set aside

(3) Boil, deshell, clean, and cut crabs in half and set aside

​

Directions

(1) In a large pot, add goat meat, 4 tomatoes, 1 whole onion 1/2 chopped onion, and habaneros 

(2) Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1 cup of water

(3) Let simmer for 30 minutes

(4) Remove onion, tomatoes, and habaneros from pot and place in a blender 

(5) Blend until smooth

(6) Taste the mixture and add salt if needed and set aside

(7) Add 2-3 cups of water to the pot 

(8) Once it boils, add blended tomato mixture back to the pot 

(9) Add your half-can of tomato sauce

(10) Let cook for 10 minutes and add prepared meat to your pot

(9) Let cook for another 30 minutes and enjoy

Note: In our home, we typically eat light soup is with fufu but it can also be eaten with rice as well.
