KELEWELE
Ingredients
​
6 Plantains
2 thumb size pieces of ginger
1/2 onion
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon whole black pepper
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
2 teaspoons crushed chili pepper
1/3 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups oil
​
Directions
​
(1) Peel and cut plantains into cubes & set aside
(2) Chop onion and add to blender
(3) Add cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, ginger, salt and blend
(4) Add paste to plantain and mix thoroughly
(5) Add crushed red pepper and mix
(6) Fry plantains in oil on medium heat until golden brown
​(7) Remove plantains from heat and place on plate lined with paper towel
​
