BOFROT (DOUGHNUT)

Ingredients 

4 cups Flour

2 teaspoons Yeast (1 packet quick yeast)

2-4 cups Oil (enough to coat the dough)

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1 tablespoon Sugar

1 teaspoon Nutmeg 

1 cup Sugar

2-2 1/2 cups warm water

Directions 

(1) Measure 1 cup of water, place in a bowl and heat until warm

(2) Add 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast packet  to warm water.

(3) Cover bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to let yeast rise (approximately 10-20 minutes) 

(4) Combine dry ingredients in a bowl (flour, sugar, nutmeg, and salt) and set aside

(5) Once yeast mixture has risen add to dry ingredients and stir thoroughly 

(6) Add 1- 1/2 cup warm water and mix until smooth

(7) Cover dough with plastic wrap and let rise for about 2 hours

(8) Add 3-4 cups oil to pot and heat oil (medium heat)

(9) Remove plastic wrap and fry dough in small, ball shapes until golden brown 

(10) Remove from oil and place in container or plate lined with paper towel
